I woke up early one cold October to Emily Carr University's National Portfolio Day with my large portfolio in tow. Needless to say, I got in and did my 4 years of the best education of my life. I dove in head first into the harsh realities of critiques and the shock of drawing nudes for the first time. I finally found my passion which is ceramics. I love the visceral qualities of the clay and the connectivity to the body. I am a dancer and clay to me is the closest thing to bodily expression in the fine art form.

My obsession with dragons...
In second year, a friend and I (both Asian-Canadian) decided we would create a collaborative piece on culture stereotypes around Orientalism. This spurred a 3 year discovery of my Chinese heritage mixed with my Canadian culture. My art grew on aspects of what I was going through and on a journey to China to study ceramics.
