If somebody wants a sheep, that is a proof that one exists.

Welcome to my blog!
I am an artist and educator whose life's goal is to unite the power of art, whether through dance, music or fine arts with educating the young people of tomorrow's society! Art is the segway to the realms of all aspects of education. No other subject can be linked to everything and anything. This is the chronicle of my life's art and my work as educator. Follow me with the imagination of a child's as only they know what they truly want.

Emily Carr University Days

"Tea Au Naturel" Highfire Columbia Buff stoneware, 2006.

I woke up early one cold October to Emily Carr University's National Portfolio Day with my large portfolio in tow. Needless to say, I got in and did my 4 years of the best education of my life. I dove in head first into the harsh realities of critiques and the shock of drawing nudes for the first time. I finally found my passion which is ceramics. I love the visceral qualities of the clay and the connectivity to the body. I am a dancer and clay to me is the closest thing to bodily expression in the fine art form.

My obsession with dragons...
In second year, a friend and I (both Asian-Canadian) decided we would create a collaborative piece on culture stereotypes around Orientalism. This spurred a 3 year discovery of my Chinese heritage mixed with my Canadian culture. My art grew on aspects of what I was going through and on a journey to China to study ceramics."Dragon Plate 2/4" Cobalt Carbonate on high fire porcelain, 2006.

"China in Chinatown Dragons" cobalt carbonate on high fire porcelain, 2008.
